It is with a heavy heart that I must inform
you that Further Lo and the Columbus Metal
scene lost a a very old, dear friend this
week. John Holderby, a Columbus bar owner
and manager who was an almost 20 year friend
to Randy, Turk and me was murdered this week
in a home invasion.
In business,
John was always that bar owner that treated
the bands that played for him well. It was
always a pleasure to play John's
establishments. John was honest and fair in
all of his dealings with us. He knew how to
treat his bands well, and some of the
greatest stories that we as musicians can
tell occurred in John's bars.
In
person, John was one of the kindest,
peaceful people that you could ever hope to
meet. Never did he cause another harm and no
one could say that he EVER did them wrong.
He was the kind of man that could look you
in the eye and you knew that you were
talking to a person of quality. He was a
wonderful human being, and a true man that
brought happiness and joy to all that knew
him and he will be greatly missed.
Our hearts go out to John's loved ones in
this time of mourning and we hope that the
perpetrator of this heinous crime is found
quickly and brought to swift justice.
This is for one of the truly good people
who may have left our presence, but will
NEVER leave our hearts...
Here's to
you John... We miss you brother...
